Did the 1st gen 4runner have a rear heater in the back of the center console?

Was it just vented from the front, or was it a separate heater core?

i belive it has its own heatercore in the back... built into that fan housing thing

Yeah, definitely it's full separate rear heater scenario - there's a pair of coolant lines run across the top of the transmission tunnel down to feed it. Has it's own squirrelcage fan and everything.

ive been thinking of ways to flip it around so it sends the heat forward..

Look at some of the 180's from honda heater systems, basically leave the orientation; and pipe them forward...

Too bad mine doesnt work, i hooked up the wiring harness under the center console, turned it on and it started to smoke, yikes. I guess it was unplugged for a reason.

I think I'm going to fit a 4runner center console into my pickup for more heat.......
