Probably need to wait for the snow to melt at the higher elevations, in the meantime, I thought we should start planning out a trip to the Crowsnest and area. It will be a two day trip cause there's lots to wheel down there.

One trail ride that is a for sure run is the airplane crash.

The other trails are up in the air. I've got DocMcCoy helping out with trip planning so maybe he can post some ideas.

We're going to do a pre-run before we make an it an official run. There's some info we need before making it an official run! Small group of guys willing to do an excursion for "research" sake!

If I can get my suspension in, I'm in for every expedition we can do. And my girlfriend wants to come too so she can take pictures/videos. I have a pretty nice setup with a bulletcam;)

Our group ran the North side of this area from Hwy 3 up to Elkford it's a great place to explore. We ran into another club (from Calgary) that also wheels there and they keep the whole thing quiet and do not post directions or anything for fear of another Indian Graves. Our group has also started cutting down on open posting of certain areas we wheel now.

I can understand where you're coming from. Crowsnest and West Castle are places that I've been wheeling solo for the past 9 years. West Castle does see a fair bit of traffic and so does the Daisy Creek area.

The other trails are very quiet with not a lot of people except for the odd quad group. Most the the trails are not the easiest to find so posting the name of the trail is one thing but posting directions to the trail head is another. Quadsquad has been really good about not posting directions to the trail heads and that's something we also respect.

The distance from metro areas are a great deterrent that keeps most people away. I've noticed an increase of people in the Crowsnest OHV areas during the long weekends and that's a concern. At least there aren't massive trucks like at McLean/Waiporous bogging the lands to death.

Now hearing that more clubs from Calgary are making their way to the Crowsnest these days is a good argument that the clubs need to enforce strict rules on trail ethics.

You make a good point Tarzan and we will implement that in our rules that trail head locations are not to be shared to people outside the association.
