I've been looking around for some modular storage containers for these long away trips and there's a few of the household names like Pelican.

Weight is a concern as Pelican is pretty heavy.

Upon checking into this a little further and not wanting to go to Australia for their cool products (http://www.trimcast.com.au/), I've run across this company called Festool.

This stuff is interlocking and stackable and has the same foam insides as Pelican. But I don't believe they are water tight nor pressurized.

This stuff totally reminds me of german ingenuity~

Here's a contact, don't know how recent it is. I'm gonna check some of this out.

festool are very good products. I wouldn't be scared, but they don't need any waterproofing or pressure as they are intended for shop use.

Someday I'll build myself some storage

I called the guy there and he said you'd have to purchase/order them before they can get them in as they don't stock these boxes. Now to see if it's worth the risk....

It looks like there's a rubber seal on the lid which would provide water resistance and dust resistance.

I would not doubt the quality, it would also save time, but a custom design would be nicer

what's the price range?

int he US you can buy here: http://www.mysystainer.com/default.asp

prices are pretty good, $58 for a smaller box

I'm curious at how they are solid if you hit them of if they get -30 int eh winter and get hit

Hey nice find!

Yeah I'm not sure how durable they are. Specially at -30. In ski racing I'd see ski boots crack at that temperature.

I just can't swallow $200-$300 for a pelican case the sizes I'm looking for. I do like those Australian ones though.
