Anyone run these yet? I'm looking to get new tires Novemberish-Decemberish. I'm looking at either the BFG AT KO or the Goodyear DuraTracs.

I've heard really good things about both, but the more I look at the Duratracs the more I like them. And because they're fairly new everybody doesn't have them.

They look like they'd clear mud better than the BFGs.

Go for some mt km2s

I do alot of highway driving. Like 500km a week. I need something good with ice. If it wasn't a problem, I'd totally throw a set of KM2s on there.

What I really want is a set of Greendiamond M/Ts, but they don't sell them in Canada.

Tyler from Country Hills Toyota was running a set. They looked like they did well on the trail. He really likes them. From the tread design, they look really good. It's nice to see more aggressive AT tires come to the market to fill the void of a true 50/50 tire.

From the picture, it looks as though these tires can be studded for maximum winter traction. That would be kind of cool. Only problem with that though, you wouldn't be able to run them in the summer.

I don't know much about studding. Can't you remove the studs for summer? Or is it a kinda once it's done it's done for good?

I really want these tires. So far Fountain Tire has quoted me $1350 all inclusive for 285x75x16s D load.

Would modernmotors be able to get these too anyone know? I'll email him too, but if someone knows off the top of their heads.

Have you considered purchasing from discount tire direct? The size you're after is $192.00 Usd/tire which is a pretty good deal. It's worth looking into if you want to save a few bucks or are interested in getting a full size spare.

$1029.44 shipped to my door. Wonder how much it costs to put it on rims and balance them?

You have to get them studded before they ever get used. Otherwise the stud holes can become filled with debris and can damage your tire. Once it is done, it's not done for good. You can always get them removed, but you can't/shouldn't re-install.

I saw the same tires at Canadian Tire last week. May be worth a look there as well. Not sure how their prices compare though.

That makes sense. Once I get back into Calgary, I'll be hopping into Cantire and Kaltire to see if they have them since they don't on the Inet.

hum, they sell every brand I think. I was at the one close to Barlow and 7th ave NE. and IIRC it was goodyear, but I may be wrong.

Yokohama Geolander MT...these are readily available, and are likely where the Greendiamond gets their's from...?

I'm impressed with the Goodyears tho...sounds like it would be a superb choice for your usage. :)

I'm curious to the Geolanders cause the Greendiamond has silicon carbide crystals through out so they make an excellent winter tire as well as being an M/T.

Yokohama's winter tire is the Geolandar I/T GO72

it's ranked best or top 3 in almost every test they make, I had them on my pathfinder and they are incredible.. Although I don't think Calgary's winters are rough enough to justify a full on ice tire??

Anyway, that's probably why their Geolandar M/T doesn't have the carbide

I am mistaken. The tires I saw at CrappyTire are the Goodyear Territory. They look similar though, sans the sidewall biters.
