as my mod budget is pretty much zero now, I can only try the "cheap mod" tricks... here's my list:

Satochi grill (custom mesh/paint/install)
Breather
LEDs (orange is ugly) - center console, cluster, steering, etc.
HIDs in headlights/fogs
Bed lights (side rails)
Heated mirrors
light in 4WD switch
engine tapping noise (put the two washers)

if anyone wants to do the mods on their trucks, I'd glady do two trucks at once.

I know there is a thread on the satochi.

I'd be down for:

Heated mirrors
Satoshi grill
Light in 4WD
Breather

once I get a feel, we can maybe order parts for the heated mirrors in bulk and/or get them shipped together to pay less duties and/or to Montana

Are we talking about the Muth heated mirrors with integrated turn signals? I would be interested in those if that is the case. Group buy? That would be sweet.

Where can you get LED's around here? I want some for my interior lights now that I have the map light mod done. I have lots more light now, but could always use something brighter.

I'm in the same boat (tight budget).

I'm interested in the breater mod, heated mirrors, and maybe the HIDs

I've got all the parts for my breather mod. Going to do it tonight before the inlaws come over for the weekend.

Here's a tip, when you are buying your fuel line, don't get the high pressure injection line like I tried. $54 for a 6' length. Just get the regular fuel line for something like $13 for 6'. The guy at Auto Value told me they were all the same price, so I went for the fancy one. Turns out he was wrong. After I picked myself off the shop floor, they let me return it and get the cheap stuff. Apparently once you cut it, it's yours. Fortunately they weren't too sticky on their policy.

For the mirrors, I don't think I'll pay the muth price. I'll either buy the heating element alone or buy the snowmobile grips...

I will buy my LEDs online, I'll try to find someone that can put them in a regular envelope and send as a normal letter... using USPS.

HID are quite cheap. I will buy from DDM and get them shipped to Montana if they don't want to send USPS saying it's a gift of 20$ value;)

wow $54!!

I bought regular one, I've had the parts for like 2 months and no time to install.

The breather mod is a cheap easy one and a good idea. Water in the rear diff was the beginning of the end for my 91 pick up. $20 and 20 minutes of you time could save you big in the long run.

has this taken place yet?
I'd like to do the heated mirrors & modified satoshi grill

I know BeachBoy was working on the Satoshi last weekend (I think...) but I am not sure what happened with the mirrors.

I have to keep my eyes on this thread - the heated mirrors would be great!

I am in the middle of the satoshi mod. last sanding hopefully and then it's paint and reassemble.

I have the LEDs for the cluster/radio, I will start by trying on the radio in case I f*** up on the soldering (it's VERY small LEDs). I have a good station but still.

For the mirrors, I need to decide the element I'll use. if it's from the US I'll buy when going down there if I get my bumper someday.

satoshi is done, i need to get my emblem fabricated though

and I am in the middle of doing the dash lights mod, but damn the leds are tiny and it's very hard to solder when it's that small, but I'm getting there

No doubt, I am hesitant to consider / put this mod on the 'to-do' list for this particular reason... Without the proper tools and technique it would be rather difficult.

What color are you going with? A nice white?

BeachBoy

gf got to pick the colors, so pink..

just kidding.

she wants blue with white needles.

I'll need to order more LEDs as I want to change some other LEDs (like the blinkers or seatbelt lights, etc). I just hate having colors, on the trail when in 4LO it's like a christmas tree so I plan on putting everything blue or white.

I should be done phase 1 tonight, then I'll order more LEDs

On startup.

Blue door open (not on picture) and blue parking lights

Blue D, and flashers
http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/8048/p1000942j.jpg

Red R(everse), blue PND, (green 32L)
http://img502.imageshack.us/img502/8073/p1000939.jpg

The 4x4 is also blue. so everything that is commonly on is blue, everything that is not supposed to be on is orange or red.

oh and I have removed the seat belt and the TPMS lights, as they annoy the hell out of me.

Now that the Japanese have gotten ahold of the flux capacitor.... it's more than half it's original size and I'm sure far more efficient!

Doc Brown ... he could only make the technology larger by putting it in a train. At least both the Tacoma and the train are lighter than the stainless steel Delorean.

While I put in your lockers do you want to do this to my truck haha.

BeachBoy

that would be a good trade, it is quite time consuming and it's easy to burn or break something.

but I'd rather do that 300 times than doing a satoshi :)
