MAN ... wow! (small rant ahead)

So, N4WD wants CA$1812 (taxes in) for the toytec ultimate lift kit and $100 x 6 hrs to install. i did drop the CT4WD name, and he recognized Nate, but no discount followed.

So now my options are:

(a) get raped by N4WD
(b) get raped on shipping and duty, direct from toytec to my front door, for CA$1584 all in
(c) ship to a buddy in Montana, pay for gas and duty and a bottle at duty free for his troubles, and come in well under the CA$1500 mark

i dont get the value-add that N4WD provides me to warrent a 15% profit on RETAIL prices from toytec.

i think etienne found the same issue with his lift, it just doesnt make sense to support a local shop (i would rather go local) if they are 15%+ above "to my door" shipping

if i combine my lift/wheels/tires into 1 trip down to montana i could really save a small fortune!

any advice and comments are welcome ;) thx guys.

That's how I feel about National most of the time as well. Every time I think I want to have work done by them they manage to talk me out of it with their ridiculous prices.

Oriontaco has had a lot of very good experiences working with them however. They seem to be keen to make you happy once you start getting stuff done by them. As well, I did get my winch fixed by them ... the job was done relatively quickly and for a hell of a lot less than I thought it would be.

I would say get the stuff yourself. We are working out getting a small shop space to work on our own trucks and I can honestly say that you get a lot more satisfaction (and knowledge) completing your own installs. If you need help with the build either talk to one of us directly or a plea for help in the "Member's Builds" section works great. Ask beachboy (etienne) if he likes the help he has gotten so far from the club.

100% agree that you get a lot more satisfaction (and knowledge) completing your own installs!!! And i am / have been willing to chip in on the garage experience, if that gets going!

Will definately be asking for help, and was hoping to make it out last wednesday to meet some of the guys before asking favors... but if my stuff arrives before the next months meet ill make a plea for help in the "Member's Builds" section

I got the same really ridiculous prices everytime I checked prices at National.

It's a joke, but we can't do much about it. I would wait until august and jump on the allpro buy, you can probably get a Fox 2.0 setup for that price!!

Tyller at the National store in B.C. has been really good to us as they have helped us get the prices we got with the All-Pro/National group buy.

As for Calgary, they are trying to get better.

You won't be sorry with the FOX 2.0 set up!
