Great thread!
I was sitting here cruising through multiple job boards looking for something meaningful but not having a heck of a lot of luck.
Basically I am playing the unemployed game at the moment (life is easy but no money). When I signed up to head back to school the petroleum industry looked pretty good... not so much at the moment. First time in 25 years my Heavy Oil Recovery teacher said that he didn't have jobs for us graduates.

I got a degree in computer science at the U of C, but when I graduated, the dot com bubble had just burst and american oil and gas bought out canadian oil and gas, and fired all the local redundant IT departments. Not a great time for the IT sector.
I was lucky enough to get a decent job as the catch-all IT guy at a medium sized government funded not-for-profit agency and I've been with them ever since (5 years), the pay is ok, but the work environment is great, and lots of perks like 100% flex time, 4 weeks vacation etc.

We DO have online service manuals but unfortunately it's dealer log in only.
If I remember correctly, if your vehicle is not too new, you can still buy the service manuals. Haha, I'd love to give out deals, but the parts department has the final say so I doubt it. Maybe if you guys buy lots from us then well start giving out deals! Haha jk

Yes, unfortunately yours is an '09 and I don't know where a FSM is for it...
For reference I have a link to the handy guys on NCTTORA who hooked up the entire 2005-2006 FSM online... ( Linky ) (http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/05+/)

what? you need to pay $200 on top of the outrageous price for the sensors?
what if you haev a set for summer and winter, flash twice a year? This would be stoopid.

I know! I shelled out $500.00 for new TPMS for my new wheels, swung by the dealership, and they wanted $200.00 to flash. Since then, I've been told that there are tire shops that will do it for much less, but I've yet to investigate that yet.
I actually rely on the TPMS daily since I park on nails and screws all the time, and I found it a great benefit that I had an advanced warning so I could at least air up before I couldn't drive on the tire(s).
Anyways, back to the topic! I'm an assistant site supervisor for a new home builder.

Courses for sure, no specific experience though (I'll elaborate later - just heading out for the course).
As for school - just been to SAIT twice:

Bachelor's of Applied Technology - Petroleum Engineering student looking for Practicum experience so I can graduate fully (completed the course section in April of this year).

WIth GM product you can manually re learn the tpm positions by activating the learn on the dash thru a variety of buttons and then you activate the sensors (in order)by doing a pressure drop or increase. I would read thru the owners manual you may be surprised to find out you can do the TPM yourself.
If I'm right next wing night is on you for all the dough I just saved you!

I don't make the books, I just deal with current clients.... but I will say, that when your power goes out, you can fire up that computer and look up any listing you want. Print actually makes up 75% of the worlds information.

Yeah it wouldn't be so bad if there weren't so many, I agree, but Telus wants 2 seperate books... and the yp.ca is terrible, they 'revamped" it and I think made it worse.
Anyways, not to worry I'm going into business for myself....$38.00 an hour and a city contract.. ahhh can't wait, and 3 more FJ's to make a fleet.
