If you got a saggy rear end 1st gen like most of them. The problem is due to because they used the same leafs as they did in the pickups as they do in the 4runners.
There are a couple ways to lift it.
Cheapest way- Lift blocks or shackles
Semi best - Add a leafs
Best - New leafs or Chev conversion

I've actually been eyeballing some of the pontiac/cadillac air over shocks of late... Really wouldn't be hard to retrofit into the yota's rear end for leveling purposes. Heck those pontiac transport minivans are a dime a dozen in pyp - each one had the little compressor, mercury switch and all in the rear panels - feed it 12v, run some air lines, retrofit the shocks - then add a manual override for flex when needed...

Should be - it's the general direction I'm planning to go... We'll have to see how well those shocks match up in the end though - that might be a bigger issue to deal with... Did have some misinformation on my part though - looks like GM switched to a axle mounted sensor for most of these systems pretty early on (my old transport had just a arm leading up to the compressor) the other years it got a sensor on the rear beam - looks like a load proportioning valve - having thoughts with regard to that as to where I might mount mine :)

i think you can get a LPV that mounts onto the brakebooster/cylinder, it has a knob to adjust.

Yeah, not worried about the factory LPV - thinking it'd be a good place to mount that GM ride height switch... Avoid adding extra bracketry as much as possible.

or better yet new rear springs are about 275 each and you can get a 3/1 or a 4/1 for the truck as well. I put in the 4/1 in mine and had them arched up 2 inches they fit great brings the back end up nicely

hopefully he reads this and gives us some insight. This is the first thing on my to do list cause it will be driving me crazy with the truck looking like that.
I have been doing some research and I think I want to take one of the two options:
1. Add-A-Leaf
2. New Leaf Springs
I am not to crazy about re-tensioning, shackles, or Air shocks. They seem too unreliable and will not enhance the functionality of the springs.
I am hoping to get some advice on the above in terms of how much will I am going to spend on either one, the level of effort to install them, and where I can get parts for the best prices.

Go for new leafs, old man emu and remove some of the leafs. Best bet, i think only like 300$ for a pair. PM me if you want help, we can work something out.

I did some measurements yesterday and the back is sitting 2.5" lower than the front.
So, I am thinking of adding a leaf combined with longer shackles to make up the difference. New springs are going to be too expensive for me and as far as I have been reading, the only drawbacks from what i will be doing is the stiff ride, which I am ok with (I bought a 4Runner, not a Lincoln).
874runner pointed me to where I can get shackles for good price (trailgear.ca)
I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get an Add-a-Leaf kit in Calgary for a good price.
Also, do you think that I will need to adjust my torsion bars after doing the rear lift?
Thanks

I got mine from Standen's, but they are the 63" long leafs. Not sure if they have replacements for Toyotas, but if they do, you cab ask for a discount as a CT4WD member.
