Hey guys, I am looking to put some suspension / wheels / tires on my 2009/white/dc/lb/4x4/sport trd

I have attached a picture of what i was thinking about doing and i want some opions!!!

The exact specs of the attached pic are: Toytec Ulitmate Lift set at 2.5 in the front, with the tsb AAL in the rear. The wheels are 20x8.5 10mm offset and 5.14" backspacing. Tires are 275/60/20 Cooper Zeon LTZ.

I like the fact that he did not have to trim and by setting it at 2.5" he didnt need new UCA's to get within spec.

The only improvements i would ask for are a better stance (a 4.5" bs might rub and require trimming?) and a more agressive tire.

while it might seem contradictory being on this site, most of my driving with this truck will be street with the odd camping/mtn trip. I dont have the balls (money) to wheel my new 2009 like Etienne.

more pics can be found here:

*edit* wont let me attach the file, so please check out the link above
sorry for the inconvience

I think you're off to a great start.

The one thing I'd look into further is your back spacing as you may end up rubbing your tires on the spindle. You'll want to look at a minimum of 4.5" back spacing that are hub centric.

You'll only need to trim the inner part of the fender flare (not even noticeable)

If you decide to join up on the trails on some really mild off-road. You may want to look into a 16 or 17" rim as it will give you more sidewall.

oriontaco runs Mickey Thompson ATZ's which are a really nice All Terrain.

in the picture, the 20's / 33" tire (with 275 width) and 5.14" bs do not rub at 2.5" in the front.

i think 17 and 18s / 33" tire (with 285 width) and 4.56" bs DO rub at 2.5" and even 3" in the front - minor trimming would solve this of course.

would have liked 6" with 35's but dont want to cut and after rubber/install/regear my wallet was in the red

so will settle for a nice 2.5" level ... argh, so many fricken options.

i hope to see you guys wednesday (have a bball game) but will try and make it.

Doc: a guy from TN, fellow CDN...dont know him personally

ed: yes that is a 20" rim. 2.5" up front, aal in the rear, and 275/60/20 tire (cooper zeon ltz). dont think the guy ever has intentions of wheeling his 09.

considering something like this now: http://www.tacomaworld.com/gallery/data/500/medium/lifted1.jpg (http://www.tacomaworld.com/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/21025/cat/500)

above pic: i think he is running a 2.5-3" (toytec ultimate lift) with a 275/70/18 toyo mt tire

edit: the 18" rockstar only comes in an 18x9 with 5" backspacing .... i wonder if those tires above rub bad and/or could get within spec without new UCA's??? any comments / suggestions welcome

if you don't offroad these looks good for a road truck IMO

as for rubbing, you never know. It can rub pretty bad like mine do, depends on tires brand, and wheel offset/BS

in all honesty, i probably wont wheel this truck like you guys do
ive looked at the 17" rims, and i think they look too small on the dc/lb - except yours look pretty damn good, so i could be convinced on those ones. did you get new uca's? how was alignment?
