Hello Everyone,

I just bought my first tacoma last month. It's a 2008 Tacoma 4x4 DC TRD Offroad, auto.

Stock for now (excluding 4 new D-Rings in the bed).

I'm hoping to add a new front and rear bumpers to improve clearance, and probably some rock sliders. and I've got an MV50 air compressor on order to mount under the hood.

I'm actually thinking of fast tracking the rock sliders as there's a white sedan that uses the handicapped parking space next to me at work that has left 8 door dings in my brand new truck. I figure rocksliders will serve me as well in the city as they will on the trail.

This if my first truck. I needed one for hunting (can't put a moose in the back of a subaru impreza), and I figured it would come in handy for mountain biking too.

Speaking of the impreza, it's for sale if you know anyone that's looking. 1997 subaru impreza outback sport, manual, 152000km, $4900.

Here's a shot I snapped of the truck in front of my house:

Hopefully I can get some more this weekend with a few mnt bikes in the back at a trailhead.

I look forward to picking your brains about armour and suspension when I can actually afford it.

Kyle

If this was happening to my truck, they would be fixing it on a regular basis, or they would find my truck on there car!

PS - WELCOME!!!

I thought about including the truck's back story in my post, but then I thought I'd see if anyone noticed.

You are correct, it was originally a US truck.

I really wanted the DC in the offroad trim and was annoyed to discover that it wasn't available in Canada. I assumed I would be forced to get the TRD Sport.

Well, i kept browsing for lightly used tacoma's and I came across one at a dealer in red deer with 2200 miles on it. Apparently it has never actually been owned, and just bounced around a few dealers before ending up in Canada.

I went to check it out and everything looked great, so I bought it for $32k cnd out the door.

Yeah, I'm pretty pissed about it actually, but I've only seen the car once (before she left me any dings). I'm fairly certain it's all the same car cause it's all the same colour of white paint left on my truck, and all at the same height. I've posted a polite note asking them to stop hitting my truck, if it persists I'll have to take it to the next level and start staking out my parking spot or put up some surveillance or something.

yeah, i really wanted the gunmetal gray, but that's only for 2009's. I would have preferred black too, but you take what you get when you aren't buying "new".
