Trying to figure out if my truck is getting the right fuel economy.
I have a 1990 4Runner 4Cyl (22-RE) 5Speed mostly stock. Tacoma Rims with 8ply Tires.
I have been getting in the 400km range for a tank with no real difference between highway and City.
Let me know what kind of mileage your getting and what you did(or i could do) to improve it

Wow 32.9L/100km is absolutely horrible.
During the winter I was using 19L/100km which worked out to 12mpg. My best tank this year was 15.7mpg in my 6speed manual (full time 4wd) FJ.

I own a fj cruiser with approx. 350 lb. of extras, 33" tires, gear ratio: 3.909. I have a 72 litre fuel tank according to the manual. I get 17litre/100k to 21litre/100k. Average is about 19.5litre/100k.

Some of my suggestions, but others can chime in:
- run the correct tire pressure
- run the correct oils (for the season)
- replace O2 sensors according to recommended intervals
- clean MAF sensor and replace as recommended
- replace all filters and spark plugs as recommended
- remove or reduce objects that interfere with aerodynamics
- run appropriate fuel octane
- check that cat converters are not clogged
- check wheel alignment
- don't run with tailgate down - it actually decrease mileage
- ensure that the radiator is not clogged on the inside or outside or airflow is blocked by winches etc, so as to reduce the workload of the fanclutch
- limit the electrical draw on components such as big stereos, so as to reduce the workload of the alternator
- do not run the interior fan on either of the windshield levels, because AC will be on automatically at either one of these settings, so as to reduce the workload of the AC pump
- keep windows closed at speeds over 100km/h
- avoid excessive idling
- accelerate, decellerate and drive smoothly
- check that the wheels spin smoothly by hand when jacked up (wheelbearings or worn calipers/ wheel cylinders)

My truck varies a bit on how I'm driving and where I fuel up.
Specs:
22re, 4.56's, 33x12.5, XtraCab.
I get on average 12-13L/100 KM in the city, so 18-20 MPG.

I have terrible gas milage on my 95 4runner 3.0
Not sure on the actual milage, but i usually fill up when i get just below 1/4 tank. Costs $45 - $50 and its only 250 - 270 km of city driving..some highway, but not much.
One problem i am facing is seized spark plugs. Not just 1, but all 6 so i can't change them. I was going to use an easy out, but if one breaks i won't be ripping the head off to fix it so i am leaving it until i decide to do my 1KZ turbo diesel swap. The gas milage on that should be slightly better than what i am at right now. :D

Gas mileage....I get AWESOME mileage, using the following methodology:
1) Wash 4Runner, including under carriage
2) Apply a strenuous coat of wax
3) Vacuum interior
4) Apply Armour All in the right places
5) Park 4Runner in driveway....and take the B3 Passat Wagon to work.
5.8L/100Km is EASY.
:p

Thats not too bad, I think I may have exceed that by another 100lb and I'll exceed it some more with the sliders, skid plate and a rear winch.
I would like to know what the stock truck weighs at? and add all the gear what the extra weight does for fuel economy.

93 4runner 2dr 5spd V6 (3.0L) 4.88's, 33x12.5 Truxus MT's ARB bumper, Solid axle and 4900lbs curb unloaded. I have gotten a best hwy of 19mpg and city 16mpg.
I average 17mpg mix city and hwy.
Would really like a 1kz but in reality would probably do a 5vz swap and get a bit better millage with the benefit of more power.
