Need some help ..I have 2010 Taco TRD DC..need a lift..what are good coilovers for up north..with all the salt and cold.
lots of washboard, frost heaves and cultivated fields..so I want some thing smooth..$2000 would be about my budget give or take a few $100..also where would be a cheap place to order from??

grab some fox 2.0 coilovers they have adjustable dampening and pull your swaybar off for some awesome performance of the rough roads and fields. allpro has a sale going on right now, they are going for under $1000, also grab some of there rear remote resi shocks and you will be set.

UCA's would be recommended as well. If you can get those shocks landed up here for $1000 that's pretty crazy.
I'd wait for the next All-Pro group buy to come around, if you can wait. If not - buy my crap!

you really only need the uca's if you go over 2 inches of lift, i will need some though when i get my coilovers in the next group buy.

ya... and to clear some coils (at least in my case). I figure the fox's are already set at 2.5" of lift, could be wrong though.

I had thought about Fox and got a price front and back..$300 shipping though:o
Wasn't sure they would stand up with all the salt..I am not sure what the rod is called but I think its prone to rusting..also I wonder how often they have to be rebiult??

I love my Icons.
Provides 0-3" of lift. Pre-adjusted to approx 2" of lift. We also carry IVD's optional IVD coated shocks. They cost an additional $100.00. The IVD coating provides additional resistance against corrosion/rust encountered in corrosive environments, such as salt water environments and locations where they use salt and chloride on the roads. The shocks normally come with a rust resistant zinc coating as a standard feature. Let us know when you order if you want the IVD coating option, we will confirm availability.
So, the Icons come rust resistant already but you can get them coated to be even more resistant.
How often do they need to be rebuilt? With my Icon's they needed to be rebuilt just after 2 years but I think you can ask around and find that my driving style is not exactly gentle. There is a place in Okotoks that I am waiting to hear back from that can rebuild Icons but I can't vouch for them yet.
Wheeler's is where I have been getting pretty much all of my aftermarket gear. They've been great to deal with and they are now setup to do shipments to Canada where you'll be given a "real" UPS quote that will include the brokerage and taxes that the other guys may not tell you about. That way you don't have any surprises when the package arrives at your door.

are you still running your swaybar with your icons, the main reason i want to go with the fox's is that they have adjustable compression, so i can stiffen the shock up for on road driving then soften it for offroad to give it better small bump feel. i just don't want tons of body roll without the sway bar like i do now with my ome lift.

I'm going with swaybar disconnects ... I've got brand new ones in right now without a sway bar and it is okay. My 2 year old ones that I need to get rebuilt were a different story. Corners were becoming a bit of a nightmare.
Having the option to adjust is great ... I think oriontaco can speak to that with his Walker Evans.

Thats funny ! Nathan, Albert and I have once or am running the OME setup and neither one of us has any complaints i'd highly recommend them to anyone, oh and there is an upgraded design on the shocks, some people will have a complaint with just about anything and everything. Just a thought !!!
