thanks doc, i got them through work for $140 a rim and now the are discontinued unless you own a trail edition FJ and cost around $600-700 per rim now.....they are the only reason i don;t want to go to my next tire size cus they are only an 8' wide rime and limit you too a max of 12.5'' wide and that wide is still pretty sketchy on these rims but i love them.....i had a guy at my shop offer my $2500 for them, i was tempted but they are too rare

Hmmm ... If I go crazy and get my wheels white. I'll get the lug nuts powdercoated the same red colour as my brake calipers. Black'll probably look better than a dark pink. Looks good in the photo though.

Built entirely by my buddy (Xterra) and his dad (JK) in the pic above.
The box was prefabbed.
propane, 40L fuel, water tank/heater, tool storage, side table, etc all riding on about 12" of independent adjustable travel via airbags.

It is an awesome little trailer, slight liability of course when things get a bit ugly. We officially named him the pack mule :-D

Wicked looking trailer.
It just needs a big front tire so you can take it off the hitch when you get stuck and then just winch or pull it through with a strap.

Interesting idea!!
We are supposed to be heading out to Waiporous either tonight or tomorrow morning for the weekend. I am interested to see how it will pull in the snow, I would assume there is still a fair bit up there? Apparently the weather is just the :):):):)s this weekend?

Hey Eric!
You may be looking at 15-30cm's of snow out there. Heavy wet snow. I believe the new access maps should be available in the birdhouse box under the big map on the gravel road pull out.
The tire idea is pretty interesting actually!

With the soon to be diesel power, I might get myself a trailer of sort too, but mine will be sporting a rear Tacoma axle with E-locker and the pinion flange will be swapped for a sprocket and chain driven by a winch motor. "In" for forward and "out" for backwards, when I get into a tight spot. :) Just need to figure out how to disconnect the chain from the sprocket when not in use or else do a manual locking hub conversion of some sort.

The trailer tire idea is infact very simple and very smart! You should look into that for sure!

if your going to go that far why not figure out a pto function to drive the trailer axel i know that arctic trucks uses a pass through center rear diff in their 6x6 conversion much like how heavy duty trucks have a pto at the rear of the diff to drive another axle. i am also aware that the military has a powered trailer setups that might give you an idea of what your trying to accomplish with the winch and sprocket

Last minute we decided to change the plan around due to the weather. Waiparous is delayed for 2-3 weeks min, mainly because if we go we want to see everything.
Ended up in Drumheller, found a little road on Google Satellite and just followed it in. Drove up a little quad trail on the edge of the valley and camped for the night. Turned out to be a great weekend. Got some really cool footage on the Go Pro, anyone have any ideas for free/cheap software for a PC that I can edit them with?

The other truck is my friends '86 I believe, with a 7mgte, ARB's, not sure what gears, and all the bolt on's you can see. It was pretty tough trying to follow him through the deep stuff.
