Northern / Central Alberta,

I am posting this to round up some interest for a trip during May Long Weekend (May 21 - 24).
I was hoping to explore the Rocky Mt. House area, as once guided by canadian bum or head into the Nordegg area.

I spoke to a Land Cruiser buddy (Eric) recently and he mentioned interest in the trip. I have a good friend with a stockish XJ Cherokee with a bar and 31's who would join us as well. I will be riding with my FJ40....

The plan would be to meet around 0930 at planned meeting spot Saturday morning (May 22nd) and wheel that day, camp a night, and wheel the next day. Leaving the option for anyone to leave at the end of either day. I am planning on leaving Monday morning, after 2 days of wheeling.

Chime in if you're interested, or require any answers to questions.

Cheers!

Sorry I can't make it out. I never wheel May Long since its such a gong show. However I do end up camping. I will be out North of Nordegg if you want to come a long. I will be hiking instead of wheeling as well as laying around.

Is it nuts up there as well on May long?

I'd be down for a run with you Karol! I still can't get over running into you at Peter's that night I had to help recover "someone" on deefoot! That was pretty surreal!

Oh and Mike from the Trek contacted me over TTORA... I'll contact him in person to discuss a CT4WD Alaska trip very soon!

Nathan: I can't believe that run-into happened at Peter's!
Well that's one more person to the list. A guy on MUD with an 81 is interested as well.
I spoke to my buddy, he is leaning towards the Rocky Mt. House area more, since it is a little more scenic.

John: I wish I could, but I have a camping event the weekend after.

Well I plan on running in the prairie creek rec area. It's off of secondary highway 752.
Nathan do you still have interest in this?

Didn't you guys here? The rocky area has been shut down for the long weekend. Yeah they are blocking all highways leading west, 11a, 11, 752 and the trunk road from rob to the north and the caroline 54 highway to the south. Sorry to be the one to relay the bad news, overheard a conversation from a few SRD guys saying they heard of a guy named kroll is heading out this way and decided to shut it down.

Hey sorry I should have worded that better... I'd be down for run with you in the near future... but unfortunately not this weekend. I'm a bit tied up this weekend trying to work on CT and will be tied up on Monday.

I hope you have a great trip!
