Hey guys, according to UPS my axle shafts will finally be here next week (after 2months and one week of waiting), so I would like to do an easy shake-down run with the new FJ80 rear axle. Anyone in?

PS: I see there is a 101 course scheduled for Sat and an official run for Sun, but I could go wheeling either day, depending on whether anyone else would like to go.

I was thinking of going on the official run on the Sun but was waiting till closer to see how the weather is going to be. Mclean is about to get very wet and the easy trails can be impossible when drenched (I hate cleaning mud out of my rig).

I'll keep it in mind.. I will be headed to Cali the Sun but might be able to do the Sat..

I just realised thanks to Hannah that May 9th is Mothers day so I will not be wheeling that weekend. I wonder if the organisers have noted the date.

Probably not ... silly organisers. ;)

Maybe it's a Mother's Day run? Get the Moms in your lives the present of 4wheelin'! Or not ... lol

We'll have to look at the turn out. But that is good point Harry.

Should have used Fed Ex, UPS sucks the big one. I doubt I will be able to make it down lots going on that weekend with birthday and parties and such.

Don't forget the checkstop they had last year out there where the cops were dinging 4x4's for no mud flaps, cracked windshields, no fender flares, ect.

Yeah, thanks for the reminder. That was on opening weekend, though. Are you guys planning a birthday run up there?

Yeah don't need to get anyone dinged for something stupid. No I think the only runs I will be doing will be involving poor balance haha. Got to spend free weekends getting the supra truck together. I should be done by end of May or beginning of June. But then I have to do all the body work on the 45. It will be painted by the end of this summer and body back on the frame.

So, I finally got my rear chromoly axle shafts today after waiting exactly 9 weeks, but they forgot to include the chromoly drive flanges. Fortunately I still have my old flanges from the front axle that I swapped out for manual hubs back then, so I can modify them slightly to work in the rear (for now). Either way, so looks as if I'm still good to go for a shake-down on the weekend. Is it only Tent and I?

I'll be on an official run on Sunday with possibly 3-8 Toyota's and Saturday we're teaching the 101.

OK, awesome! I quess this thread is now officially closed. I had no idea that the official run was a go. I'm not sure how other members do it, but I have a real tough time to find out about trail runs, courses and meetings on our site. I'm on this site a lot, so I would imagine that it must be even harder for those who are not familiar with the site to sometimes find this info. I mean here I am, I am looking at going on a trail run, I'm on the site everyday, but still had no idea that the official run is a go. Is it just me who struggle with this? :)

No its not just you. It was easier when we had an official trail run section that everyone could see so we could all talk about it but had to sign in to find out the details about the run. Should start that up again and keep this section.

Yeah we totally can. It was slimming down the process a bit so I didn't have to cross thread between email, forum, website... and having to keep telling people "please check the calendar".

We also have regional sections as well which it would need to be cross threaded at the moment. But were still working on the system on how to do so.

I can just post all the runs in this section.

There's one site that provides all the info :D

www.ct4wd.com

Maybe you're not getting the email updates. It's coming from a new email which is info@ct4wd.com I can send a reminder from the old email to give people the heads up as it may be getting filtered.

Here's the trail run page:
http://www.ct4wda.com/ct4wd-trail-runs/

All the info is on the main site.

Info is also distributed via email with reminders.

Info is also distributed via the news site (www.ct4wd.com/news)

I just checked, and it doesn't look like I have any emails from any ct4wd address in my junkmail folder (nor are there any in my inbox)

Is it possible there's another reason that some of us are not receiving these emails?

I also subscribed to email updates and I have received no emails, even when a new post was added.

I've found the problem...wrong email address. Let's see if this works.

Hi Nathan

I agree with John as well. I really think it's better to have a thread for these runs, so people can ask questions, plan and be in the know of what's happening. I like the idea of other means of notification, like email messages, and the RSVP page, but those platforms do not really allow for any discussion.

hi all, not a CT4wd official run, but me and Tunra (Nic some of you may remember him from last Junes run with his stock Tundra) will be heading to Mclean Creek on the 8th. We will be meeting up at the gas station in Brad creek @ 10:30 (approx) anyone who want to join use for a few hours is more than welcome. Sorry if this thread was closed, but thought I would let you all know. I'll be riding my FJ, Tundra will be sporting his new (to him anyway) 98 4Runner with 10 lift and junk. It will be fun watching him roll it hahaha or get stuck as he has no lockers and likes to show off.lol

Anyhow all are welcome, but as I say not a CT4WD run just a fun day nothing too steep or deep as I'm still stock for the most part.

peace.
