im looking to get another probably 3-4" of suspension lift, and i will not run blocks. i dont like blocks, they look stupid (imo) and they create mad axle wrap.
so i was wondering if anyone has built any custom leaf packs for 6 or 7" of lift. i apparently have 3" lift springs right now, and am wondering what i can do to get more.
if anyone has built custom leaf packs, what have you used, and what do you recommend?
I remember Nathan mentioning at South Coffee that rear leafs up front has stupid amounts of flex... so i was thinking about getting another set of rear leafs, and building a couple custom leaf packs for the front and rear.
any comments or suggestions are more than welcome. thanks for your input everyone :)

I have custom Alcans, only 3", but you can get them with more lift, and whatever load rating you want.

how much did you pay for your alcans?
im kinda themed with my truck haha, im doing everything as cheap as i can haha :P not that i have anything against going with all new, but i want to build a wicked wheeler and prove that it can be done without spending a ton of cash so that others who are looking to do budget builds can copy me. it makes it easier if you don't have much money to spend on stuff haha. so im wondering if there are any existing leaf packs on other vehicles that people have used and seen results with. maybe if i head up to pick n pull at all before i move, ill take some measurements and see what i can figure out.
one of my buddies just built his own rear leaf pack, he has about 6 or 7 leafs, and the pack flexes like you wouldnt believe! he can put a jackall on his rear bumper and lift his truck up to the max of the jackall and it wont even lift his tire off the ground! he gets about 15-18" of drop out of the rear leaf packs!

I don't know if you consider this cheap or expensive but I just ordered a custom set from Deaver for 750$ they're tailoring the leafs to my specs, First Gen Tacoma capable of 5000 lbs of towing and 1200 lbs of cargo. Not bad considering the exchange rate from the US right now

Rears up front (also known as RUF) they are pretty soft so you will have to mix in some other leafs to hold up your front end. depending on the way you make the pack I believe you can get 3-4" of lift out of them, an they move your axle 2" forward. For the rears I would go with Chevy 63" springs they give roughly the same amount of lift IIRC, an flex awesome. This is the set-up I will switch over too if I feel these Trail Gears are less than stellar.

I love my Deavers. Gonna try Alcans next (just because) but my Deavers have worked and continue to work great! They can make anything you want if you give 'em the weights and the distances between the eyes.
It can be a bit pricey once you count shipping but Chaos is right, the exchange rate right now is awesome.

Yes, the cheapest option is probably to move your rear springs up front and replace them with 63" leafs in the rear. I got my 63's at Standens.

In my 82, I ran Jeep Grand Wagoneers (aka Waggy's) in the rear, and CJ5 rears up front.
In total, I paid about $180, excluding the Rancho 9012's, and Ford F250 shock towers. This was a excellent setup...comparable to the Chebbies 63"ers. Just another option.
Performed very well:

on my buddy's truck, he's got 5 leafs up front and 7 in the rear. he's got an anti-wrap leaf on the rear.
ive been looking at a LOT of pirate guy's setups, and im thinking ill just build my leafs up a bit. i have a 84 s10 sitting at home with a bunch of leafs on it, and my buddy just bought a 2wd parts truck that i can get some leafs off :)

you could keep the stock steering arm, get the stock axle wrap bar (can't remember the proper name at the moment) and modify it with an extension and a johnny joint for articulation. Then your bumpsteer won't try to kill you on the highway when you hit the emergency stop!
