Marlin and All-Pro sell the birfield felt kit...

If you're leaking gear oil through the felt, sometimes it's a good idea to check the bearings and repack the birfield with grease.
The leaking gear oil is sometimes a sign that the grease has broken down and is mixing with gear oil.

Oh and cone washers suck! If it hasn't been done in a long time it's hard to get those guys out. Brass drift works pretty good to hammer them out.

knuckles don't have to come off, its a 2 part felt, and can be swapped out in about five minutes each. make sure the knuckle "ball" is clean before putting the new felts on
oh, and if you end up taking the cone washers out, do yourself a favor and put some anti seize on them. can save you a major head ache if you ever have to pop off a knuckle to change a birf on the trail
