Any trails open this weekend (Apr 2-4)?

Now that the Waiperous winter trails are closed where can I go for a few hours of trail 4x4 driving close to Calgary this weekend? Are there other trails still open in Waiperous? Mclean?

Waiparous is open year round, the regular trails are open and of course the Winter trails are closed. Mclean doesn't open till May I think for trucks. Thinkin' of goin on a run?

Rob, perhaps make a thread in the unofficial run section. I know a couple of guys on beyond that are looking to do a stocker run to the falls. Who knows, maybe a couple guys will be interested and you can get your feet wet in this wheelin' thing.:)

That would be great. Where are "the falls"? Sorry for the ultra newbie question ;) My plan is to head out on Friday morning.

The 'falls' are in the Waiparous / Ghost area. I'd recommend going with at least one other truck. But if you are interested in doing some exploring on your own this weekend, I would recommend getting a map of the area. There are little information kiosk/birdhouse stands along the trunk road and the transalta road. It's a good idea to have one.

Stick to the areas that are for trucks. I'm sure there are others going out this weekend. Unfortunately, I can't. My truck is going to the Forrest Hospital for Sick Trucks this weekend. Have fun!
