Hi everyone!

I spent the afternoon in the mountains, hiking and taking some pics. Was WINDY, and starting to snow by the time I left. :)
Not much, other than enjoy.

When the winter gates open we should do the same thing with Powderface. I thought Highwood was closed for winter.

the gates are closed on the hwy 40 side.

RedApe, how far can you get on the 541 side?

Hwy 40 side you can still go in about 15Km's (until the Cataract Creek Day Use area).
541 is closed at the junction of #40 until April.

We did Powderface last year...was a great tour for a day trip. VERY family friendly, for those with the young kids!!

Ach, sorry Dave...missed this.
13Km's to Cataract Creek day use area. That's where the gate exists on Hwy 40....and it's about 35Km's through on 541 from Longview before you reach the intersection. 541 into K Country is gated at the Hwy 40 intersection.

late but thanks. We went down and drove all over the place.

Followed Hwy 40 south towards Coleman for 10km or so. Its a nice area. Lots o good stuff to see.
