See you there Gary. This time we should be able to climb the hill with no problems. The rolled over Blazer is just west of Valley trail on Fisher West and we should check on it's status. I vote for a run up Quirk Ridge once we cross Fisher West it's a great spot for lunch.

Argggghhhh... I'm missing out on the trail run and the SAS.
Gary, can you post some photos of your truck in the "first gen" section and whatever info or photos you have of the solid axle swap in the "member builds" section. You must get asked about it all the time but I'm in desperate need of more info.

It's still the old server with ct4wda as we haven't finished ct4wd yet.
It should work now if it wasn't before

Yeah, I've been planning on doing a write-up for quite some time now, but don't think I'll have time soon to devote to that. You're welcome to ask any specific questions or come and take measurements, though.
In short, I used the FJ80 axle out of a 1995 Toyota Landcruiser. It is, in my opinion, the best axle to use on any Toyota SAS. It's the perfect width, comes with the stronger birfields (tested to be almost twice as strong as mini-truck Birfs), the super strong high pinion reverse cut diff (with E-locker if that's what you like), factory cross-over steering, etc.
Being that the front diff is on the pass. side I needed a pass. side T-case so went with two 1980 cases. This also allow for less of an angle on the front driveshaft.
For suspension, I got a set of 14" travel Sway-away coilovers off ebay for $500 each, made the brackets for the frame and axle attachments, and went with a 3-link setup with the panhard. The top link just runs from the top of the diff to the pass. framerail. I actually based my set-up on a similar set-up from a guy named Homegrow (Sp?), who's got a good write-up on Pirate.

looks like the Tacoma is going to have to stay home as the cv boot is coming off the the cv as the metal clamp snapped!?! I managed to get the coil overs at a better height though.
Well I'll be in the 81 tomorrow... just gotta get it all loaded up and trail ready.
