I finallly got myself a 3.4bj with a 5spd.
I'm going to be transferring the drivetrain in my 86fj (american) in the spring.
Has anyone here done this before?
I''ve contacted the rmlca and they've got a guy that's done it in town here.
I've yet to contact him yet as I'm still trying to research what'll need to be done to complete it.
Thanks in advance.
I'll throw up some pics soon.

I would think quite a few have done it. I think I know the one you are talking about in Calgary and I picked up a gas drivetrain from someone out towards the coast who did it with a 62 (both were 3Bs with a home brew turbo setup). If you are not already on ih8mud, I would go take a look there in the diesel and 24v section. Lots of guys who do and/or talk about diesel swaps into american trucks.

Incidently, if the 2F is in decent shape and you are looking to get rid of it, I know a couple people who might be interested.

Ha ha, OK funny cause all I saw was the reference to BJ, and I thought that was it. :)

There's a fellow at RMLCA that did a FJ to BJ swap in a 60 series. I can't remember his name. They basically took the engine and trans from the BJ and plunked it into the FJ chassis. I can contact Bruce at RMLCA if you're really needing specifics.

Spencer is the one I know has done it, about a year ago IIRC.

I've met specer at the meetings but have just been too busy to head to one and get a hold of him.
Not a big rush right now, as I'm still in school till april.
I'll start to tackle it after that.
thanks for the heads up though I appreciate it.
