I'm from the the lower mainland (New Westminster) and visit there every year during the summer. I hope that helps.

I'm from Surrey and wheeled many times in the Chilliwack area especially Chipmunk. I seldom go back to the lower mainland for many reasons with traffic being number one.

Someone told me that there's some great places for wheeling in Chilliwack. Any recommendations?

I am from Chilliwack. Grew up there and as a teenager got my first taste of wheeling in a 1977 FJ45. My brother still has it. Sorry I don't remember any of the trail but probably around Cultus Lake or up towards Columbia Lake. I am in Calgary now but look forward to wheeling in the valley in 2011.

Yeah, there is a road that heads up the mountain around cultus lake. If memory serves, the road is on the right on your way to the lake. Think it's on the last bend before the little village there. Not spectacular but its something.
I would seriously consider investing in the Backroads Map Book for the area. There are 2 trails that they have listed as ATV trails. Bear Lake and the Liumchen East. Those ones I have not done yet but plan on checking out the next time I'm out that way. The old lady's father lives in Chilliwack and we head out there pretty regularly.

That first road used to be part of the military base. Don't know if it is open now though.

Well the military base is no more and I think the property has been split up between the province, the private sector (houses) and the RCMP (training facility). I'll definitely check into it the next time I'm out there.

I'm in Langley, spent a whole summer in the Chilliwack area couple of years ago.

Thats Vedder Mt area, there are some OK trails in there, nothing I would drive more than an hour for.
Another good area is up the Chilliwack River valley up towards Chilliwack lake. Lots of areas to explore and some nice trails. Quite a few have since been washed out though so not sure what is left up there.
Harrison west and east is another area to explore, mostly all logging roads though.
Doc let us know when you are out this way and we can show you around.

Start gathering the troops!!! We have cards to throw in the driver's window to gather Toyota 4WD owner's from each location.
4Runner, Tacoma, FJ Cruiser, Truck, LandCruiser. They don't need to be modified, can be any Toyota 4WD. Majority on the site have started with a stock Toyota and got really into it and they've become what you see now in the photo's and video's!
PM me with your address and I will send you out a box of cards.

Yep, New West guy here. I grew up in Surrey, spent my summers in the interior and have slowly began to explore the area surrounding the lower mainland.

I'm in surrey, grew up in richmond, i got my truck not too long ago but i'm always looking for groups that go out wheeling with. I've been up west harrison and poked out in pemberton.
I've got a taco TRD sport and have been debating to put front and rear lockers in so i can push the limits more.
