Hey guys, looking to find out if anyone knows what the backspacing is on these 16inch toyota wheels that came with these 4runners.

I am looking at a set of Dick Cepek DC2's 16x8 which have a back spacing of 4.09inchs and an offset of -12

Now I am lifting the truck and looking to get the wheels closer to the fender or even a little passed the flares

Ive been trying to use this link http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp to help me understand what the backspacing and offsets actually do and how it will effect things.. but its hard without knowing the original rim to compare it to.

I'm pretty sure they're 4.5" but I could be wrong. Someone else will surely chime in if i'm incorrect.

By the way WELCOME!

So will this rim fit properly with a 285/75?

I am going to keep them for resale.
So would these new wheels fit properly with those tires? or will I have alot of rubbing?

Stock 3rd Gen B/S is 4.75 which I believe is a 0 offset.

You should be able to fit at 285/75 on a stock rim. You may have rubbing on the UCA with the tire or the LCA at full lock depending on what tire you run. It would be really marginal rubbing but enough to score the tire which isn't that great.

This tire fits fine on the stock TRD Trail Team FJ rim with a 285. If it doesn't you may need to fit a 1.25" spacer.

It may be best to get an aftermarket wheel with at 4.5" B/S.

Well I am looking specifically at those dick cepeks with the 4.09inch backspacing (-12 offset)
I am wondering how those will fit with those tires/rims

Don't forget, quoting backspacing is only one part of the wheel fitment equation.

Dragon has a stickied thread with some good links in it, including a calculator that will give you a "best guess" as to whether the wheel will fit.

What you need to know: specs of the stock wheel, specs of the new wheel.

Backspace is essentially the distance between the face of the wheel that meets your hubs, and the inboard flange.

Backspace = [Wheel Centerline] + [Offset]

so positive offset means "more" backspacing, and basically more wheel width inboard of the centerline. Negative offset means less backspace (and the wheels)
So not only is the offset/backspacing important, but the width of the wheel as well.

Referring specifically to the DC-1's or DC-2's (same wheel different aesthetics basically), I believe they'll fit. your best bet is to search around on toyota forums and see if other members with your vehicle are running them already. Learn from somebody elses' mistakes (or successes!).

I have seen photos of DC-1s on first generation tacos, and second gen tacos. Dunno about t4r's.
