It is impossible to find a 2001-04 dc taco in alberta. All i can find is 1 used 03 that was brought in from the states a few years back. I have heard from a few people that they weren't even offered by the dealer ? Is this even possible and have any of you tacoma guroos ever heard this ?

Yes, I heard that they are quite expensive and hard to find in AB. I got mine in BC.

I looked in Ontario(I was living there) and they were $15,000 for ones with 200,000km, so I bought my second gen.

If you want to get crazy check Ontario

If you want, I can look for my paperwork because I can't remember the name of this outfit in BC, but they specialize in importing US models, get them tested etc. Then you just need an AB inspection and I don't think you would find much cheaper than US models.

I wouldn't mind if you did that Gary. I wouldn't mind working towards a trail (mostly) rig.

Not sure if they are still in business, but they are called Miracle autosales and if you click on the URL it takes you here: http://www.buysell.com/advertisers/miracle_auto/

Hey!! I know that car lot!! There are lots of cars from out east being shipped to the lower mainland so you should go there and look at them yourself for under body rust. My friend bought a 91 Integra GSR in rust free shape, he too was impressed with the condition. I know a used car dealership on 12th st in New Westminter had lots of Toyota trucks just don't remember the name of the place but B.C. is probably the best rustfree place to buy a used vehicle

They also financed my truck and there were some hidden charges that I was not happy about. For example they forced me to take a $2000 extended warrantee on the truck etc. The truck was still cheaper than anywhere else, but just watch out for these hidden charges that they slap on at the time of signing.

Thanks that would be great.

I looked at about 6-7 in Calgary before I bought my '05. As Orion said in Ontario, it's tje same in Alberta. They were all asking 15K-24K with over 200kms on them. I did the same thing, bought the 2nd Gen.

Looks like a lull in local listings, but all last summer and fall there were quite a few down here.

Good luck - I'll keep my eyes open for postings.

I would go to the dealership for the inspection. You could even request a specific tech. There are at least two that I know on this board. 03TacoSC and Victor both work at local dealerships.
