I will be bringing the 81 in for getting a tube/flat deck made to support the RTT, Geri, spare, tools and gear. I should be able to lose about 100-200LBS off the back and have the ability to have my RTT on the roof as well.
I met Chad at our last Monthly Meeting and he does all the designs in CAD first which is a huge plus as I get kinda picky sometimes!
Chad is Ray's (Yota Ray's) nephew and it looks like the work he does runs in the family!
I'll keep you posted on the work when it get's started this late winter/spring.

Can't wait to see it, I love flat decks but there is something beefy and attractive in a butch way about the stock bed, especially the Canadian beds with the lip.
I'm torn over a fiberglass bed for mine or flat decking it.

I've been a fan of Mudrak's 45 with the maggiolina on his flat deck tube. I'd do something similar but with more features for mounting the Geri system. It would be a combo between the SEMA Expo1 Tundra and Mudrak's 45.

It would have to have it follow the lines of the 81 as well ot doesn't look like it was just plopped on.

My approach is great... The departure... Not so great! I really love this box but the 22r just doesn't have the power to run super long distance through mountain passes to haul the extra 500lbs of bed.

What do you guys think about a tube frame/flatdeck like this and hanging fiberglass bedsides on it? www.toyotafiberglass.com has bedsides for $250 each and I can con my fab guy into putting something nice like this together pretty readily.
I can't think of any downsides, but its also 7:45am and I've not slept yet.

the one posted above looks nice for my style of trucks, but his is a 81.. so i was thinking that you make the rear tube fenders stick out a bit rounded.. to match the front?

What ever became of Yota Ray? Last rumor I heard was his wife was seriously ill and he had moved to the Okanagan to be with her as long as possible. Only fact know for sure is the shop was closed and all the parts gone (possibly somone in westgate area had them).
