So I'm going to pick up a used FJ Cruiser front light bar. accidentally found it on Kijiji, called the guy and done deal. $100, slightly used but in MINT shape. So i've been searching for off road lights, I need low profile lights to ensure I clear into the garage as well.

Priced out some of the X Visions.. holy crap they are pricey but well built,

I like these:

but due to budget, will have to do cheaper, any recommendations? need lower profile so not a large diameter for the roof.

What's your budget and what kind of lighting are you going for?

What kind of roads will you be needing these lights for?

Spot Euro/Driving light (highway)
- these have sharp cut off beam like headlights that don't blind people on the highway

Flood (curvy roads/tight Offroad/work light)
- recognizable by lots of diffusers on the lens

Fog (poor weather)
- recognizable by vertical diffusers and sometimes a yellow bulb or lense

Pencil Beam (long distance)

usually if it's on your roof you're going pencil beam so you don't blind yourself with glare off your hood. But I'm sure you could mount a euro beam upside down also

Few light options:

- PIAA
- Lightforce
- Hella
- Cheap lense with HID mod! (process auto optics and eBay)

thanks for the info Freeze, think I may do a combination of a few beam styles, found the Piaa 510 series, may go with 2 Floods for work lighting, and 2 pencil beams for longer distances.

Most of my offroading will be on established trails, curvey roads, dirt roads, construction sites, so if will have the best of both worlds. I will need some help with wiring configs, as I have ordered the OEM Toyota light switches so I can have a stock setup.

Also bought this bad boy this morning:

In amber? Any particular reason why?

yes it is in Amber, has side take down lights in white, this is strictly for security purposes, I'm operating an independant security patrol service for a few custom home builders, as they have recently had some site break ins. This unit will give me added light in the middle of no where on site, and the Amber will be strictly for saftey and is a must with my other busniess to operate on city roads, and no it's not a recovery service, however there's another practicle use. I'll be running a clean up contract for the city so my truck will be on city medians curbs etc...and MUST have saftey markers.

So it will serve many purposes.
