View Full Version : Transfer Case Leaking?

Hey guys i was under the truck today and found something terrible. My transfer case is leaking from the top? What could possibly cause it to leak from the top?The only thing that i can think of would be the breather? There is a fair bit having leaked already. Please need help.

If its leaking from the top of the transfer case sounds like maybe the case is over full with fluid.

Thanxs for the hint there Orion. It is very possible that i may have over filled when i did a fluid change a couple months ago. From what i can tell is has been seeping for a while the way it has worked down the case. If i did over fill, boy do i feel like an A**.

Also check your transmission fluid. When the rear oilseal go, tranny fluid will leak into the T-case.

I have a auto tranny and i really don't know how to check the fluid level in it. I will look at it tonight some more.

It should have a dipstick somewhere in the engine bay.

Aha! that makes sense then! Hope it's just overfilled!
