What a great day!

It started with driving towards Cochrane and seeing a black FJ Cruiser with flashers at the side of the highway! I pulled over to see if it was indeed Jeff and low and behold, it was him snapping photo's of the beautiful sunrise... glad it was just that and not something mechanical.

We all met at the Cochrane Smitty's and found Victor, Harry, Jeff, Konrad and Izabella all parked eating breakfast. The roster was an FJ Cruiser, two 4Runners, and two Tacoma's.

We finally got on our way to Waiparous to air down before hitting the trail to the falls. The trail gave us plenty of icy water crossings, snow, rocks and ice. Most of the river crossings were frozen until the afternoon which made things a little interesting.

There wasn't much water coming down the falls of course, however the sights were incredible. Combination of completely transparent ice and snow made the trip spectacular.

Coming back from the falls ended up with a few ice crossings that turned into an ice breaker plow-a-thon. Luckily the last river we crossed was frozen over just enough to get all the Toyota's over back in time to air up with sun to spare.

Being Konrad and Izabella's first time 4WD'ing, they did excellent and we look forwards to the next trip out!

Great pictures Meghan! Basically the re-cap of the entire day! It was my brother's first time ever going wheeling let alone drive as well it was a bit nerve wrecking for him to do a few descents and a few climbs. Oh, and Jeff Moss needs an aftermarket cool bumper now, in case you forgot Jeff. During the drive home I noticed an intermittant scraping noise coming from the right front corner of the truck, we pulled into a gas station a found my washer fluid shield had broken off and the tire had rubbed through it. Thank you Jeff for pulling over with me and for the zip ties! Damn ice!!

My sentiments exactly - excellent photos Meghan!

I had a great day with everyone. Although the ice did suck a little and it caused some damage (crushed bumper wing on my FJ, ripped boot on Nathan's steering and a broken head light on Konrad and Izabella's taco) but it added to the challenge and excitement..

This was about 7:30am just on the west side of town on Crowchild. I couldn't believe what I saw in my rearview mirror. I had to turn around and head back to the last exit to take a shot.

I never noticed the broken headllamp and in the vid it looks ok as it never went under and came by the camera intact. Did it have fog lamps? cause they would be much lower of course.
