I am having a friend fabricate a custom Artic bar / pre-runner light bar bumper for my 09 Tacoma. This bumper would be a direct bolt on application over the factory bumper that would provide protection and light mounts. This individual is starting his own custom Toyota fabrication business, but he is also a close personal friend of mine, and since i am living outside of Calgary I thought I would help him with the mounting brackets as much as I could without having the truck there all the time to complete his setup work.

What I am looking for is mounting measurements, photocopies or sketches of the hardware and brackets that a typical light bar uses to mount in behind the grill fins.

I have been in contact with N-Fab but they have not agreed to sell me just the brackets, so i am asking if anyone could help with this information. I was also at some of the local shops to see if they had any Tacoma light bars in stock to sketch their brackets but I was unsuccessfully.

If anyone could help out that would be sweet. I will also keep you in the loop on this project. Happy treading.

Sorry.. don't have any info for you on the light bar. I'm not sure if any of the guys run just a light bar on the front. I've seen a bull bar that just covers the stock bumper that dragon has on his tacoma.

Is it like this one?

Mine's a modified full grill guard that I actually had extra bars welded on.
I'm actually gonna be selling it once I get my all-pro bumper painted & mounted.

Notice the extra bars that wrap around the fog light holes and the extra one across the lower valance.

I am having the Artic bar (mounted to the lower tow hook mounts, but having the sides and a top loop extended up and out. Here are a couple of pictures. I love the orange truck's bumper but its too much, someting simular but no winch application. But it will mount through the lower grill fins but also mount below on the hook mounts.

this is what i am wanting and this is the measurements that i am needing.

Plus my bud said that he will also fab up the rear flip up bar lights... how sick are these.

Well... Kinda. The one on my avatar took a deer impact this past December and we are currently working on "overkill" 2.0.

It was mounted with brackets we made that attached to the aluminum bumper mount behind the lower grill fins. And then under the truck, at the corners of the bumper where those blocks unbolted and sild out from. The whole thing was bolted to the truck using 12 bolts and was able to be fit on over the stick bumper without any modifications.

The new one will attach the same but will look different. Can't wait to have it back on. Especially after the silders, rims and tires have all been installed.

why not just go with a full tube bumper?

i have issues committing....

at this point i can unbolt everything and toss it on a new one if i chose to do so...I hate to say it but its a highway truck at this point. All i do is commute to and from work so i am logging 600km a week.

I posted pic on a custom bumper and slider thread. This is the first one we made. And is being rebuilt after that deer impact. Working on the new one Friday night in Calgary so I
Hope to have some new armor on soon.

Still need to put the finishing touches on it but we mounted it the same way as the original.

See thread "new bumper is done". I took it out to McLean for a trial run on Sunday.
